AI test bed

Through a number of on-going projects on the back of the DeepMind collaboration, the Moorfields reading centre is developing unique experience in validating AI-based decision support systems in ophthalmology. Defining the threshold for clinically meaningful validation of such algorithms before they can be introduced in clinical practice is an important task and the reading centre is providing the reference standard for a number of retrospective and prospective validation projects.
